Executives and leaders of Filipino-owned IT-BPM company Pointwest pose with their third Sariling Atin Award and inaugural Hall of Fame Award at the HIMAP Awards 2024.

Pointwest, a Filipino-owned IT-BPM company, achieved a significant milestone by joining this year’s HIMAP Awards Hall of Fame after bagging the Sariling Atin Award for the third consecutive year during the recently-concluded HIMSCON 2024 last October 25 for driving the health information management industry forward.

With this latest achievement, Pointwest’s Chief Executive Officer Tech Abcejo-Aguila, reinforced the company’s commitment to elevate the Philippine talent on the global stage.

“For us, this isn’t just a win – it’s a celebration of Filipino ingenuity and determination. This recognition fuels our commitment to showcase our homegrown talent and world-class service on a global stage. We are immensely proud of this milestone, which strengthens our mission to make a meaningful impact in the industry and the communities we serve,” Abcejo-Aguila said.

Prior to the awarding ceremony, Pointwest’s Head of Digital Services Ma. Victoria Basinang took part in the plenary talk on Day 1 of this year’s HIMSCON. During the talk, Basinang shared Pointwest’s insights on ways to propel the healthcare industry forward in the coming years.

“From fence-sitting, a lot of organizations are taking a “pilot-and-prove” stance to being AI/GenAI-ready. Two important things that business leaders need to ask in using AI: Know your Whys. The desired business outcomes need to be very clear,” Basinang said about AI-assisted BPO work during the first day of HIMSCON.

Since 2022, Pointwest has been the recipient of the Sariling Atin Award in recognition of their pivotal role in improving the digital capabilities of healthcare organizations locally and globally and providing meaningful employment to local talent.

“By investing in our people and adopting the latest technologies, we have consistently delivered results that resonate with our clients’ needs. This approach is exemplified by our impact on healthcare information management, where our digital solutions are transforming operational efficiency among healthcare organizations,” said Rhea Latoga, Pointwest’s Strategic Business Head for Healthcare Services.

As administrative complexity grows and reimbursement pressure tightens, providers are being forced to rethink how revenue-critical work gets done.
