The Challenge
A leading Philippine insurance company faced significant hurdles in their data processing operations. Extracting critical information in real-time from vehicle Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration (OR/CR) and Sales Invoice documents presented accuracy and speed challenges. Traditional OCR solutions achieved only 70% accuracy with the client's existing dataset, requiring high levels of manual intervention to rectify data capture errors. This resulted in increased operational costs, delayed processing times for Compulsory Third Party Liability (CTPL) insurance applications, and operational inefficiencies.
The Solution
Pointwest implemented Skriba, our proprietary smart OCR platform powered by Machine Learning, to enhance text extraction and recognition from both handwritten and typewritten documents. We trained Skriba with an extensive dataset of sample receipts and sales invoices, enabling it to learn and adapt to the specific layout, fonts, and data elements characteristic of these documents. Skriba's APIs enabled real-time, concurrent processing and automation of end-to-end workflows at scale, eliminating bottlenecks in the data extraction process.
The Result
Upon implementation, the client experienced improvements in their data extraction processes.
